Wood Fired Hot Tubs
Hand crafted hot tubs made in the old style cooperage method.
No plastic liner is required. The hot tub, benches and covers
are all made from hand picked Western Red Cedar. Western Cedar
is the preferred wood species for building hot tubs because of
its resistance to decay and its dimensional stability.
Careful attention is given to detail and craftsmanship and the
ageless beauty of the finest hand-picked Western Red Cedar. These
wood fired hot tubs enhance any landscape, are inexpensive to
operate, and easy to transport and assemble. They can be assembled
in 4 to 5 hours with few tools required.
It takes about 3 hours to heat the tub from 45º F to 103º
F with no expensive hydro costs. You can enjoy the silence and
relaxation of the age-old Japanese style of tubing. Filtration
and chemicals are not required when the water is changed frequently.
Our hot tub kits include a wood burning submersible stove made
from high grade, non-corrosive marine aluminum. The fire box is
top loading for easy access. This stove is warranted against defects
and workmanship for one full year. If the stove is properly used
it will last for many years. A cedar fence is installed to protect
you from the stove, but surprisingly enough, the submerged portions
of the stove are cool enough to touch.
A 6’ diameter tub can comfortably hold
up to 5 adults.

A Quality Made Canadian Product
Each tub is completely pre-assembled in the workshop. The fitting
of the staves to the circular floor disk is done to the precision
of the thickness of a piece of paper. The staves are notched on
an arc to perfectly match the radius of the floor disk. Strict
quality control assures the highest degree of craftsmanship. The
benches and heat shield are pre-fitted, but not fastened in. This
is because once you receive your tub and put it together it is
a perfect fit. No glue or sealers are used that will deteriorate.
The tub will leak at first for one to three weeks, but will become
totally water tight. If you want to take the tub apart you can
let it dry out and it may then be disassembled.
The life expectancy of these wood fired hot tubs will be over
20 years. There has been a documented case where a dead Western
Red Cedar tree was on the ground and resisted decay for over 1000
years! The log was still in prime shape and was made into musical
instruments.
The stoves are made of marine aluminum. The hoops are made from
stainless steel because it is strong and corrosion proof. Using
a durable product such as stainless steel will not create the
ugly black stains on cedar like ferrous steel would.
