Sun Volts DC Starter
Kit # 1
This starter Kit is perfect for a summer weekend cottage
or cabin using very light 12 volt loads. It will operate
lights, radio and a small water pump. |
Kit Components
- 80 watt solar array (4.73 amps of charging current
@ 12 volts) and roof mounting frame
- 10 gauge, 15 meter power cable
- 15 amp regulator with digital volt and amp meter
- solar and load center breaker panel
- grounding kit
- two 6 volt batteries (232 amp-hrs @ 12V)
- battery box and vent kit
- assembled on 2' x 3' x 3/4" power board

Options
- small inverter (to run 1-2 small AC items)
- pole mount (if roof mount exposure is insufficient
- less than five hours per day)
- Change to 40 watt solar array instead of the 80 watt
(2.4 A of charging current @ 12 V)

This Kit is ideal for the cottage which is used for summer
weekends and a two week summer vacation. It will operate
lights, radio, a small water pump, and a cellular phone. |

- 8 gauge, 15 meter power cable
- solar boost 2000 regulator with digital volt and amp

Note: Lighting is based on 15 Watt, 12 Volt
fluorescent lights, which give the equivalent light of a 60 Watt
incandescent 120V AC bulb. Radio or TV are based on a 30 Watt
power draw per hour.
